A Very Eventful Week

Hey Everyone,

We had a great week! There is a lot of progress with our investigators and it was good to see a less active family at church yesterday. It was a very eventful week this last week, I will list some stuff of for ya:
-Elders Ramirez and Moyes went home on Tuesday
-Elder Reeve went to Star Valley on Thursday
-Hung out with Elders Boatright and Whitbeck until Wengler came up from Star Valley
-Our companionship is sweet
-We got cussed out by our drunk investigators (I hope they dont remember haha)
-Saw a rottweiler kill another dog on the indian reservation (we almost got killed as well)
-We ate so much mexican food
-Working out really hard
-a lot of new investigators
That is pretty much what happened this week. There are always a lot of stories to tell, but I seem to forget when Monday comes around. Sorry
“And now, because thou hast done this with such unwearyingness, behold, I will bless thee forever; and I will make thee mighty in word and in deed, in faith and in works; yea, even that all things shall be done unto thee according to thy word, for thou shalt not ask that which is contrary to my will.”
-Heleman 10:5
That scripture stood out to me this week. What do we need to do to align our will with God’s?
Anyway, I love all of you!

Adios Mi Amigos

Hey Everyone,

I am sad to say,  Elder Reeve will be leaving me this week. I will miss him. We are a lot like brothers. He will be going to Star Valley, Wyoming on Thursday. My new companion is Elder Wengler from Boston, Massachusetts. He has been out for 11 months. His Spanish is impressive. I am excited to be his companion.

This has been a sad week. It is sad to see some of my good friends leave the mission. I will really miss Elder Moyes and Ramirez. There are moments from my mission with them that I will never forget. I will also really miss Elder Reeve. It has been a good 3 transfers with him. He has taught me a lot, especially about patience and humility. One of my weaknesses is holding my tongue and being meek. He is an expert real-life example in this.  My mission is full of  good times with these Elders.

We have been focusing a lot more on finding, and we were able to find a whole area that is not in the area book. There are about 6 or 7 families that we know out there now. Plus there is a lot of potential. I am excited to introduce Elder Wengler to the area and the people.

I look forward to this coming transfer and the things the Lord has prepared for us here.

Fighting for the Right Team

Hey Everyone,

It has been a great week! I have been able to grow in faith from several experiences with God answering prayers. I am just so grateful to be on His side, and fighting for His team. May we all do what we need to to develop in to that better player.

“For behold, if the knowledge of the goodness of God at this time has awakened you to a sense of your nothingness, and your worthless and fallen state—

I say unto you, if ye have come to a knowledge of the goodness of God, and his matchless power, and his wisdom, and his patience, and his long-suffering towards the children of men; and also, the atonement which has been prepared from the foundation of the world, that thereby salvation might come to him that should put his trust in the Lord, and should be diligent in keeping his commandments, and continue in the faith even unto the end of his life, I mean the life of the mortal body—

I say, that this is the man who receiveth salvation, through the atonement which was prepared from the foundation of the world for all mankind, which ever were since the fall of Adam, or who are, or who ever shall be, even unto the end of the world.

And this is the means whereby salvation cometh. And there is none other salvation save this which hath been spoken of; neither are there any conditions whereby man can be saved except the conditions which I have told you.

Believe in God; believe that he is, and that he created all things, both in heaven and in earth; believe that he has all wisdom, and all power, both in heaven and in earth; believe that man doth not comprehend all the things which the Lord can comprehend.”
-Mosiah 4:5-9

Not many scriptures speak to my soul as chapter 4 of Mosiah.

Thank you for all your prayers and support.

The Message of the Gospel and the Hope It Brings

Hey Everyone,
Thank goodness that I am serving a mission right now, a place where I don’t have to worry about much else besides Heavenly Father’s work. I know that it is true. It has been the experience of my life thus far in helping prepare myself for the future.
These last weeks, I have been studying, praying, and fasting more intensely than any other time in my life to draw myself nearer to my Heavenly Father and to do what He would have me do. Specifically, I have been trying my absolute hardest to do His will. What I am about to share with you is what I believe He would have me do.
Yesterday, as I viewed the temple’s dedication, I’ve never had a stronger desire in my life to live with my family forever. I left the stake center with a resolve to become the man to live with them forever. This man that I seek to be is one that is based on integrity, love, and all other principles of righteousness. I have served in the most diligent as I see possible for myself to have God accept this sacrifice of time and labor. In return, to change me into a better version of myself. “And how blessed are they who have labored diligently in his vineyard” (Jacob 6:3). This passage of scripture, from Jacob to me, has really helped me understand God’s plan for me.
He continues “And how merciful is our God unto us, for he remembereth the house of Israel, both roots and branches; and he stretches forth his hands unto them all the day long; and they are a stiffnecked and a gain saying people; but as many as will not harden their hearts shall be saved in the kingdom of God.
Wherefore, my beloved brethren, I beseech of you in words of soberness that ye would repent, and come with full purpose of heart, and cleave unto God as he cleaveth unto you. And while his arm of mercy is extended towards you in the light of the day, harden not your hearts” (Jacob 6:4-5).
I love the message of the gospel, and the hope it brings.
