We had a baptism yesterday and Elder Ramirez and I sang Dios Te Necesito. It was pretty awesome! Plus, we had a bunch of recent converts bear their testimonies. I bore mine in Spanish and it went over well.
On the bad side, I almost broke my ankle playing basketball. ha-ha I will send pictures of it later. It was so swollen and black and blue. We still went proselyting every day. It hurt so badly.
If we find two new people to teach this week, we will meet the standard of excellence. That is pretty rare for people in the Spanish zone. The standard of excellence is 2 new investigators each week, and 1 baptism each month. That would be really cool to meet that goal when there are some English elders who don’t even meet it.
We have been having a really good time. I can’t say it enough how much I love it here. The food is so amazing. My companion and I get along really well. Plus, the members we live with are incredible and I’m learning a different language. It is just the best!
I hope that all of you are doing all right, and I wish you the best.
This week has been so awesome! I really love my new area and my companion, Elder Ramirez. We get along better than most people in the mission, I imagine. The Spanish zone is pretty much across the whole mission. We are able to work really well together and we find new people to teach in Spanish every week. I’m really excited, at the zone training; President Hancock said we would probably be in our areas for a long time.
We are really busy and I enjoy this place [Pocatello] so much. It literally has everything here. Everything is a lot of fun, my companion, the branch, the people, the p-days, etc. I will send pictures next week. I keep forgetting my camera.
So, my companion and I decided to be exactly obedient to the mission guidelines, so that way we can receive as many blessings from the Lord as possible. This last week, we were not exactly the most obedient. We get along too well and sometimes bend mission rules because we get along too well. Anyway, the Lord still blessed us with one more investigator last night at the last hour of the week to meet our goal. We know, that we can exceed our goals if we continue to strive for exact obedience.
Time just seems to fly by. I can’t believe that I have been with my new companion for 3 weeks now. It is crazy. We even got matching suits ha-ha. They should be coming in a couple of days.
I just want to thank everyone for all of the support and emails.
This has been probably the best week of my mission. I love my new area and Elder Ramirez. He is from Mexico City and has been out for 7 months. It is awesome how much my new companion helps me. We really get along great. He shares with me authentic Mexican food, it is the best. My Spanish is going great! I love being involved only with Spanish speaking. Pocatello is so fun. I love the people here and the missionaries too.
I have a good story to tell you:
Yesterday, we were driving down the street when we saw a man walking. He wasn’t even Hispanic, but I had a feeling to stop and go talk to him. I had the same feeling again, and then a thought clear as day “If I can’t trust you with this prompting, what can I trust you with?” So we turned the car around parked and tried to talk to him. He wouldn’t listen and just ran off. ha-ha right at that moment another guy walked by and we talked to him. He just moved here and he doesn’t know anyone. He looked really depressed, and said that he wants to learn more about Jesus Christ. He accepted our baptismal invite! What a miracle!
It has been great and I appreciate all of your prayers and thoughts, have a good week!
